In PATA SERIE, visual artist Marion Colard invites us to see beyond the clichés and into the inner worlds of Roma children from Pata-Rât, a marginalised community on the outskirts of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Created through collaborative workshops in early 2023, this photo series is a celebration of self-expression, where children aged 6 to 13 reclaim their own image through photography, painting, and storytelling. Rather than dwelling on the conditions of the slum, PATA foregrounds joy, imagination, and resistance—offering viewers a window into creativity, pride, and unfiltered childhood dreams.
